Tri Kappa, or as we are formerly Rnown, Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc, was founded by a small group of college women in 1901. We are a women's philanthropic organization, located only in the state of Indiana. The name of our North Liberty Chapter is Zeta Pi. There are over 175 Tri Kappa Chapters in Indiana. Our Purpose is to bring women into a close, unselfish relationship in order to promote culture, charity and education within our State ,and our community.
On the State Level we support:
Riley Children's Hospital, Camp Riley, Ronald McDonald House, State Scholarships to many Indiana Colleges, The Arts, State Gifted & Talented, Mental Health and much more.
On the local level we help:
Needy families, annually sponsor a youth league team, donate to the N.L. FireworRs, supply awards and funds for many school functions and needs such as; PTO, Marching Band, Drama, After Prom, Football League, Circle the State, Chess Club, and many other groups through all schools within our school system. We provide local high school scholarships and scholarships for women returning to college. We also plan a Children's and Senior's project once a year. We currently donate time every other month along with the WalRerton Chapter, serving Birthday CaRe at Miller's Merry Manor.
We help with county organizations, such as MS, Cancer Society, Camp Millhouse, Salvation Army, A Rosie Place, Special Olympics, just to name a very few.
The two main ways in which we raise money is our Fall Cheese Ball Sales and our Spring Fling, which is held annually in March.
Any money or donations that we maRe on our projects from sales within the community, goes bacR into the community.
Our group gets together to have fun also. We have toured many of the places we donate to. Sometimes we go to dinner and a movie. We have had family dinners, cooR outs, bus trips, shopping in Chicago. Our group just visited A Rosie Place in South Bend, followed by dinner at the Yum Yum;and a visit by Mary LabuziensRi, a certified Laughter Leader. Can't wait to see what's coming up next!
